Psychologist, Author, Podcast Host, Speaker… and Homicide Survivor.
I often say I’ve lived two lives. The first was conventional and secure — loving parents, school I enjoyed, and dreams of a career in psychology.
The second began in February of 1985, when my husband was murdered.
That loss — compounded by betrayal and public exposure — silenced me for decades.
Eventually, I chose a different path: to speak openly and use my training as a psychologist to help others navigate the aftermath of homicide.

Liberty Henderson is a nationally credentialed victim advocate, grief and bereavement counselor, author, and facilitator specializing in grief work, trauma-informed care, and post-traumatic growth.
After losing her brother to homicide in 1997, she dedicated her life to supporting others navigating the complex aftermath of traumatic loss.
Liberty is certified in grief journaling, trauma-aware facilitation, forest therapy, sound healing, and mass violence preparedness.
She is the founder of Far North Retreats + Events, a Pacific Northwest-based organization offering restorative spaces for reflection, renewal, and healing.

Rachel W. Robinson, Esquire is a Victim Rights Attorney who earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2017 and began her legal career as a prosecutor in Denver, Colorado.
She specializes in representing victims in Criminal cases and Family Law cases.
At the age of 7, Rachel was inspired to become an attorney when an uncle told her that “an attorney is someone who provides a voice to those who don’t have one.”
Her law firm, The Ray of Justice fulfills that purpose by giving a voice to victims who are often dismissed in the legal process.

Susan Snow is a Keynote Speaker, and Award winning Author. Susan is the daughter of slain Los Angeles Police Department Detective Thomas C Williams, who was killed in the line of duty on October 31, 1985, when she was 17 years old. The high-profile murder put her family in a spotlight no one asked for, traumatizing Susan and her family.
After years of working through this trauma, sometimes more successful than others, Susan strives to help others. Susan’s book, “The Other Side of the Gun” tells her story from anguish and upheaval to peace and understanding. Susan helps others gain insight and understanding into the experience of trauma survivors, fostering empathy and compassion.
Find inspiration and hope in Susan’s journey, offering a source of strength and resilience for those facing similar challenges. She gives helpful tools used in her healing, to have meaningful conversations and reflection on the importance of mental health and trauma recovery.
Privacy and safety are our top priorities. The Aftermath Conference is exclusively for adults who have experienced the violent loss of someone they love, along with trusted allies who support them. To protect the privacy and safety of all participants, registration begins with a brief email exchange rather than an open ticket link.
This extra step allows us to ensure the conference remains a safe, supportive, and confidential space, free from media and anyone not connected to this community. Once you email us, you’ll receive a short form to complete and full details about how to register and attend.
The closest airport is Seattle (SEA).
Upon registration we will send you the event address in Gig Harbor. You can take a direct shuttle from the airport, Uber or Lyft, or rent a car.
